Jamal Olasewere from Long Island has won StatSheet's NEC Player of the Week for February 4th. StatSheet's NEC Freshman of the Week goes to Mount St. Mary's's Shivaughn Wiggins. Also, Quinnipiac's Ousmane Drame has taken StatSheet's NEC 6th Man of the Week. Olasewere had huge numbers in shooting (50%), scoring (17.5 pts per game), and rebounding (10.5 per game). The Long Island senior put these numbers up in a win against St. Francis (PA) and an unfortunate loss to Robert Morris.

Olasewere contributed 17 points and 9 rebounds in 25 minutes in a big 82-62 win against St. Francis (PA). That was followed by a team-leading 12 rebounds and an additional 57% shooting in a 60-57 loss to Robert Morris.

This is the first time this season that Jamal Olasewere has been selected StatSheet NEC Player of the Week. However, he has come in second once and received an honorable mention. The runner-up this week is our own Jalen Cannon. Honorable mention goes to Bryant junior Alex Francis.

StatSheet NEC Freshman of the Week: Mount St. Mary's's Shivaughn Wiggins

Shivaughn Wiggins averaged 31 minutes as a starter for Mount St. Mary's. His averages in scoring (15.0 pts per game), assists (3.5 per game), and free throws (7.0 per game) topped all NEC freshmen. In a late 77-73 win over Quinnipiac, Wiggins led the Mountaineers in scoring with 17 points and added 2 rebounds. Following that in a 91-82 win against Sacred Heart, he added 13 points and 6 assists.

This is the first StatSheet NEC Freshman of the Week honor for Shivaughn Wiggins. The runner-up is De`Aires Tate from Sacred Heart. Honorable mention goes to our own Anthony White.

StatSheet NEC 6th Man of the Week: Quinnipiac's Ousmane Drame

Sophomore Ousmane Drame, a 6-9 reserve forward, averaged 25 minutes over two games for the Bobcats. In a 77-73 loss to Mount St. Mary's, Drame led the scoring for the Bobcats with 19 points and also led rebounding with 20. After that, in a last-minute 74-69 win against Wagner, he racked up 13 points and 10 rebounds.

This is the first time this season that Ousmane Drame has won the StatSheet NEC 6th Man of the Week. Booker Hucks, a senior forward from Long Island, is the runner up. Joe O`Shea, a sophomore guard from Bryant, receives honorable mention. Travis Nichols finished 6th and was the highest ranking 6th man from St. Francis (NY). St. Francis (NY) has one StatSheet NEC Player of the Week win this season.
