Bryant's Alex Francis has been chosen as the StatSheet NEC Player of the Week for the week ending January 7th. Long Island's E.J. Reed has won StatSheet's NEC Freshman of the Week. Finally, Terrell Allen from Central Connecticut State is StatSheet's NEC 6th Man of the Week.

Francis topped the NEC in free throws (7.5 per game). He also put up big numbers in shooting (50%), rebounding (8 per game), and scoring (19.5 pts per game). The Bryant junior played well in wins against Robert Morris and St. Francis (PA).

Francis contributed 18 points and 9 rebounds in 39 minutes in an 84-77 win over Robert Morris. He followed that up by leading the team in scoring and rebounding with 21 points and 7 rebounds in a huge 78-58 win against St. Francis (PA).

This is the first StatSheet NEC Player of the Week award for Alex Francis. However, he has finished second once. The runner-up this week is senior Kinu Rochford from Fairleigh Dickinson. Honorable mention goes to junior Matt Hunter from Central Connecticut State. Jalen Cannon, who finished 11th, was the highest ranking player from St. Francis (NY).

StatSheet NEC Freshman of the Week: Long Island's E.J. Reed

E.J. Reed averaged 31 minutes as a starter for Long Island. His averages in both scoring (14.5 pts per game) and free throws (5.5 per game) were the best among all NEC freshmen. In a 77-73 loss to Sacred Heart, Reed registered 14 points and 2 rebounds. In an 82-74 loss to Quinnipiac, he put up 15 points and 4 rebounds.

Amazingly, E.J. Reed has won the StatSheet NEC Freshman of the Week 3 times. Brandon Peel from Central Connecticut State grabs runner-up. Honorable mention goes to Stephon Mosley from St. Francis (PA).

StatSheet NEC 6th Man of the Week: Central Connecticut State's Terrell Allen

Junior Terrell Allen, a 6-6 forward, averaged 24 minutes over three games for the Blue Devils. In a 96-62 loss to Syracuse, Allen put up 3 blocked shots and 55% shooting. Then in a 67-60 loss to St. Francis (PA), he racked up 5 points and 2 assists. Finally, in a 77-70 win over Robert Morris, Allen put up 12 points on 75% shooting.

This is the first StatSheet NEC 6th Man of the Week award for Terrell Allen. Sam Prescott, a junior guard from Mount St. Mary's, is runner up. Orlando Parker, a junior forward from Wagner, receives honorable mention. Travis Nichols finished 5th and was the highest ranking 6th man from St. Francis (NY).
